Almost Varsity Podcast Ep.4

This week we recap the crazy first week of college football (hint hint HOT SOUP went 5-0!) and give our week 2 picks.  But wait there is more!  Steve and John also break down the NFL divisions and give some long shot props that we like heading into the NFL season.  We throw in a few NFL picks in our new segment “Homer” picks and the popular Why we hate ND returns.  The NFL is back!

Hot Soup Week 12

@NotsoLittleJohn Chicago (+1.5) @ St Louis Chicago is the better team here.  A banged up Cutler on the sidelines has this line reacting to the public’s overreaction.  McCown is not that bad and he still has Matt Forte lined up behind him and Brandon Marshall lined out wide.  Throw the ball to either of these guys in space and let them work.  The Rams have played well without starting QB Sam Bradford, but this team is playing way above expectations.  They are about to fall back to Earth this week with a flop vs the Bears.  Bears win 27-17 Cleveland Continue reading Hot Soup Week 12

Hot Soup Week 11

@svubs34 Indianapolis (-3.5) at Tennessee Indy is coming off a bad blowout loss to the Rams and will be focused for this big divisional matchup.  Meanwhile, Tennessee lost their starting QB for the year and just ruined my survivor chances.  Indy rolls. Pitt (+2.5) vs. Detroit Every time Detroit makes us think they are ready to be a contender; they go and lay an egg.  This is that week this season. Houston (-7.5) vs. Oakland Case Keenum has injected some youth and excitement to an otherwise boring Texans team.  The Texans D has actually allowed the fewest yards per game Continue reading Hot Soup Week 11

Hot Soup Week 10

It has been a grinding NFL season for everyone.  Injuries are piling on for all teams and it is getting tougher and tougher to make picks.  Take a look at the latest standing and this week Hot Soup Picks   @AngelSteve89 Cincinnati (-1.5) @ Baltimore Road division games are always tough but Cincy needs a bounce back week after last Thursdays’ OT loss.  Luckily Ray Rice doesn’t exist anymore so the Ravens must rely on Flacco, advantage Bengals.  They have extra rest and it almost a pick em so I’ll take them. Philadelphia (+9.5) @ Green Bay A-A-Ron going down Continue reading Hot Soup Week 10
